Co-development of Mercy Health Aboriginal Employment Plan 2023-2026

Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd

Who funded the project

Karabena Consulting was engaged by Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd to lead the co-design of their 2023-2026 Aboriginal Employment Plan.

The goal of this project was to identify and articulate the purpose, vision and guiding principles that should underpin the Aboriginal Employment Plan 2023-2026 as a commitment to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander employment within Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd and two sites of Mercy Health in New South Wales.

To achieve this aim, Karabena Consulting undertook a thematic analysis of relevant internal and external documents and policies, analysed current and secondary employment survey data, and conducted a series of interviews and workshops with key stakeholders to gain an understanding of their experiences and aspirations.

Karabena provided a detailed report to Mercy Health outlining approaches to building on existing foundations and new directions to increase Aboriginal employee numbers and position Mercy Health as an employer of choice.
