Our Purpose

To improve societal, economic, early life, and environmental outcomes by valuing, celebrating, and embracing the culture and contribution of First Nations peoples, and sharing evidence of our impact across Australia and the world.

About Karabena Consulting

Karabena Consulting is a 100% Indigenous-owned consulting firm that offers end-to-end services for a wide range of national and international clients. Our Managing Director is Professor Kerry Arabena, a Torres Strait Islander and master facilitator with a well-established reputation as a thought leader, qualitative researcher, evaluator, writer, public speaker, teacher, director and environmental scientific commissioner. Karabena operates as 'profit-for-purpose' businesses, and all have a track record of professionalism, client-focus, authenticity, accomplishment and excellence.

We draw upon empirical findings generated from our consulting firm to support partners to assess and improve their ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in different contexts. Karabena Consulting strategies are based on rigorous academic research methods, Indigenous science and ICF accredited coaching programs.

Professor Arabena has grown a multidisciplinary team, skilled in the provision of project implementation services including co-design strategies, events and research administration, milestone management, research, writing, digital marketing, online course development, editing, graphic design and publishing. These offerings are activated at various points across the delivery of Karabena Consulting services.

Karabena Consulting came highly recommended from other health organisations and they did not disappoint! Kerry and her colleagues were easy to work with and provided timely, effective communication with our organisation. COVID made engaging with our staff, patients, families and stakeholders challenging, however, they worked around these obstacles creatively.
