We are thrilled to announce that Karabena Consulting has emerged as the successful tenderer for the evaluation of the first Dhelk Dja 3-Year Action Plan (2019-2022). Our rich history and expertise as an Aboriginal service provider make us an ideal partner to evaluate this significant initiative by the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing (DFFH).

This partnership provides an exciting opportunity for us to work closely with DFFH and various communities throughout Victoria. As we kickstart the evaluation process, we will actively engage with key stakeholders and communities to enhance self-determined monitoring and reporting tools. Our work aims to improve data collection practices and implement continuous monitoring of future Dhelk Dja 3-Year Action Plans.

Please keep an eye on our social media handles as we will be sharing updates about our community consultations and key project milestones. We are committed to enhancing data sovereignty, Aboriginal defined measures of success and outcomes while working diligently to deliver on the agreement.

As part of this project, we will be focusing on key aspects of Dhelk Dja, such as Aboriginal culture and leadership, Aboriginal-led prevention, self-determining Aboriginal family support and services, and system transformation based on self-determination.

The purpose of this evaluation is not only to assess the plan's effectiveness but also to contribute valuable insights that will shape future Dhelk Dja 3-Year Action Plans. Our collaboration will ensure that the unique culture, leadership, and decision-making capabilities of Aboriginal communities are the cornerstone of efforts to end family violence in Victorian Aboriginal communities.

Join us on this journey as we undertake the evaluation of the Dhelk Dja 3-Year Action Plan, and let's work together to ensure that Aboriginal people, families, and communities are stronger, safer, and free from family violence.

We thank the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing for entrusting us with this pivotal role. Stay tuned for more updates!
