Yarra Valley Water
Who funded the project
Karabena Consulting was engaged to facilitate a strategy day for the Yarra Valley Water (YVW) Board. The aim of the strategy day was to promote governance inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s aspirations for healthy Country.
Karabena Consulting facilitated a workshop drawing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of knowing, being and doing. The “knowing” elements included pre-workshop engagement to prepare for learning. An opportunity to participate in discussions with Elders-in-Residence and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff represented the “being” elements while the “doing” elements are accessible as part of the post workshop program to evolve the Board’s 2030 strategy and their reconciliation commitments.
We provided a report to the YVW Board that identified ways to actively engage Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians.
