Job title: Senior Consultant Associate (Grade 3), Identified First Nations Role 

Reporting to: General Manager, Karabena Consulting

Direct Reports: Nil

Salary: $99,309 - $115,123 + Super (pro rata)

Hours: 1.0 FTE (4 Day Work Week available)

Location: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in on-site in Sunbury)

Purpose of the position

This role combines consulting expertise and leadership qualities to lead the delivery of high-quality research and evaluation projects under the direction of the Managing Director.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Collaborative and self-driven design, planning and implementation of evaluation and social research projects.

  • Facilitate workshops and consultations in a culturally safe manner

  • Day-to-day project management, including proactive risk identification and mitigation.

  • Leading quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and desktop research.

  • Supporting other team members, as well as subcontractors and peer researchers, to successfully deliver project outputs within scope and budget.

  • Writing reports and other project outputs and presenting recommendations from research and consultation outcomes.

  • Proactively contribute to Karabena Group strategy and projects and look for and assist with any growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' experience in community engagement, research or consulting.

  • A background and/or qualifications in Indigenous Studies, Research Administration, Sociology, Health Sciences, Education, Business, or related areas.

  • Demonstrable research consulting skills, such as research design, data collection and analysis and extraction of findings and recommendations.

  • The ability to work independently, and as part of a team – as well as remotely and within a shared office space.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.

  • Demonstrable experience in the writing of research outputs, including reports, briefs, and case studies.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
